Well I was thinking about how I was gonna stock it and I was thinking about how I've been seeing neon/cardinal tetras with angelfish and I was thiking about getting 1 but at the most 2 angelfish to go along with the rest of my stock which is as follows.

Clown Loach x3-4
Bosemani Rainbow x3
Neon Tetra/Silver Tip Tetra/Cardinal Tetra x16-20
Cory Cats x4
Angelfish x1-2

I probably wouldn't have the Bosemani and the angelfish. Its more of an either or.

The reason I was thinking angelfish is because I've seen some that have been said to be 4 years old on here and they have no problem with tetras.

AND by the way, the tank is a 55 gallon. ANDD when the time comes, I will be getting a new and larger tank. I just don't have the money now or the space, but when I move out I should have a little more of both. haha

Thank you.

Clown Loach x3-4 =12"X3/4= 36/48"
Bosemani Rainbow x3 =4"X3 = 12"
Neon Tetra/Silver Tip Tetra/Cardinal Tetra x16-20 =2"X16/20= 32/40"
Cory Cats x4 =2"X4= 8"
Angelfish x1-2 =6"X1/2= 6/12"

so you're DEFINETLY wayyyy overstocked.
[and i hope...that you don't mean getting 16-20 neon tetras, silver tips, and cardinals...and that you're only getting one of them...or only getting 6/8 of each...]
with what you've said above you need between 90-120 gallon tank for that.
So i'm going to suggest you probably won't need cories if you've got clown loaches so bring it down to:
3X Clown Loach 12"X3= 36"
Angelfish x1-2 =6"X2= 12"
AND
6XNeon Tetra 2"X6 =12"
OR
6XSilver Tip Tetra 2"X6 =12"
OR
6XCardinal Tetra 2"X6 =12"

you can't have all those tetras....or else you have to get rid of something else....that's what i woulod do at least...

The clown loach option may present issues if you get disease (ich) at some point as they are very sensitive to chemicals.
Try to fill all you water layers. top, middle and btm do a little research on biotopes wich may help you decide on future stocking plans and most importantlY "Dont buy fish on impulse".
I could give you a stocking plan but I feel it has been done too many times before and each aquarist is an individual and has his or her own individual ideas of how their tank should look. Its a learning process, each tank you setup will be on the back of what you have learnt previously.

At least your neons will be a nice snack for your angels one day.

Drew

Did you conveniently forget to read the whole post? I said when the time comes, I will be getting a larger tank for the angel fish and the loaches. And that time will be when the tetras look like they could fit in the angelfishs mouth.

And I also said that if I get the angelfish I wouldnt get the bosemani rainbow fish and vice a versa.

And no I am not getting 16-20 of each of those tetras, just 16-20 of whichever one suits me best or whichever one te LFS has.

So update:

Clown Loach x3-4
Bosemani Rainbow x2-3
OR
Angelfish x1-2
Neon Tetra OR Silver Tip Tetra OR Cardinal Tetra x16-20

And what fish are top swimmers? The only one I know right off my head is a needlefish and i dont want one of those haha.

What germ? If I put in angels I get hatchetfish, not tetras? and without them i get danios? If I don't have them Ill definately get tetras. Just more colorful.

Noooo....
Your top dwellers.

Without the angels you'll have tetras(?) which can get shy, zebra danios make an excellent dither fish and should get more activity out of your tetras. While not technically top dwellers the danios will almost certainly spend a great deal of time in the upper regions.

If you have the angels then hatchets would make an interesting and suitable bigger than bite-size top dweller that usefully come from a similar bio-tope to angels.

Alright

Well I think I might just get one angelfish I don't know but here's the stocking anyway,

Clown Loach x3-4
Bosemani Rainbow fish x3
OR
Angelfish x1-2
Neon Tetra OR Silver Tip Tetra OR Cardinal Tetra x16-20
Hatchetfish x5-6

I'm thinking of taking out the Bosemani Rainbow from the stocking. The angelfish and the tetra's would do find for a couple years right? especially if I got the angel fish small right?

Without the Rainbows would that be fine? I've been told it would be, but I think it was without the angelfish in the tank. and without the hatchetfish. And on the community creator it said it would be fine too.

Danger is, if the tetras are confident and the Angelfish small, they may nip at him.....
:dunno:
If you do go for it make sure you have alot of planted cover just in case it does kick off.
Stocking sounds okay as long as maintenance is perfect and filtration good. I'd reduce the number of tetras myself.....
Not too good with Tetras TBH, or Angels now i mention it :S

Ha all this stock will be added over time, maybe even the angelfish first so it can be in the tank and established before the tetras and such?

I'll probably start with the angelfish and the hatchets and the clown loaches then add in the tetras, 5 at a time, and then maybe the rainbow, but im still on the fence with that?
