Okay, I pass by my LFS today and pick up a couple of bristlenose pleco....yehey... :D . They are only about 1 1/2 inch right now and they seem to be settling in fine right now. I got this new fishy because i have to get rid of my common pleco(given to my neighboor and not flush down the toilet....LOL) cause it was getting too agressive especially with my DIscus. And I'm just wonderin if they could live off algae alone, cause i never feed my common pleco with anything except for leff overs of my other fish. I'll take some pics as soon as i get a battery for my digicam...

Bristlenoses are omnivorous. They will eat your algae, but they also need meaty foods in their diet. Bloodworms, shrimp pellets, zucchini and sprouts are always appreciated!

Just managed to grab a shot of our albino enjoying a sprout:

wow, those albino's are gorgeous....I've looking for one, but had no luck with my LFS.... Anyways are bristlenose really shy and would only come out once in a while or would they come out more often when they get settled down??? cause my common pleco never hid infact I've rarely see him go to the caves.....

Our Bristlenoses rarely hide and can always be seen shuffling around on the glass or decor.

Most plecs require high oxygen levels and if they don't get it, it makes them shy and lethargic.

Our Plec Tank has two powerful filters craeting currant and a total of 17 inches of airstone. Our plecs are very active.

AW, what a couple cuties, Ladyminion  I have albino BN's too, and they look different then yours in color.....not as much "pink". See :)

I always see mine, day and night. One thing I noticed.....I don't think they KNOW they are albino  They think they are hiding, but they aren't doing a very good job of it

Oh I LOVE those albinos! They are so gorgeous! :hyper:  I could get some, as there is a very nice lfs that sells them around here, but unfortunately I have no where to put them at the moment. :/ So I have three of the brown ones (two females and one male), which I must say are just as pretty. :D

Here's a pic of one of my females...I just love her pink eyes!!!

As for them hiding or not, I see them all each and every time I look in on the tank (which is quite often  ). They rarely ever hide, and are always either on a tank wall, or playing in my hanging plants or rock caves. These little guys have quickly become one of my favorite Plecos, not only for their unique looks, but for their wonderful personalities. I love my Bristlenoses!
