I can guess any number of ways. Picking them by hand, using a bowl with a piece of lettuce, a snail eating fish. Using some kind of chemical to kill them. Unloading the tank with snails on someone else.

No no no.......of course not 4 DAYS........just 4 hrs ;)

I'm back........

I cut up about 4 slices of cucumber and throw'em on in the tank (they float of course) and about 12 hrs later they are covered in snails!!! Of course, the more snails you have....the more will be on the cucumber. If you're like me......ONE DARN SNAIL multiplyed BY THE HUNDREDS!!!!! It, or maybe they  , got introduced into my take on 1 darn live plant I got from my LFS and it ended up getting eaten within 48 hrs. anyhow :grr: RRRR!!

But, you can either scrape the snails off into a baggy and resuse the cucumbers if the other fish haven't demolished them by then  OR just throw the cucumbers, snails and all, into a little baggy.....tie it UP and TOSS EM!!!!!!!

:flex:

:flex:

Me hates snails........me love my precious..............(no I didn't use an Oreck)

Darn I was gonna guess a 4 fish wrecking crew. 4 dwarf puffers I know mine go through snails like candy.

Guess it kinda depends on what type of snail you have. I have one type that I guess you would call a typical pond snail, lay eggs like crazy and have a thin shell, I just occasionally crush a few of them, the fish think it's a tasty snack, corys esp. love them. The other type is more of a cone shaped shell, I have managed so far to contain them to just one tank, but the shell is extremely hard, no crushing here.

EEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww.....

Crush them........

I have crushed a couple in the past, but I can't imagine doing it to ALL OF MY SNAILS!!!

what do snail eggs look like, can u see them??
They look like little clear jelly packets attached to everything (plants, substrate, glass). Sometimes you'll see little brown dots in them.

If you have snails, they shouldn't be hard to find. Trust me! ;)

I've got hundreds of snails in a 3 gallon bucket. I was keeping juveniles (2) to feed my dwarf puffer, but it's too small. So they procreated and left me with lots of little guys.

Their eggs are clear and they look like hair nets with pearls attached to them (that's the best description I can give). The babies are clear and you can see brown streaks on them.

Well, at least my puffer'll be enjoying snails for some time.
