I have a 20 gallon tank. I had: 3 Mollies. 2 Skirt Tetras. 2 Serpae Tetras and 1 Dwarf Gourami. Today I took back the Tetras (Serpae and Skirt) and go 1 Cory Catfish and 3 Red Wag Platys (Which are beautiful) I also put in my betta! Which i flaring at the Gourami (Who doesnt care he just minds his business) but other than that everything seems fine. What do you think about my setup?

The Cories are a social fish. They like being in groups 6+ I wouldn't want to keep them alone. In a smaller tank, even 3 would be better.

Platies have a nice personality :)

the sign that the betta is flaring at the gourami is bad. they should never be placed together, under no circumstandes. they have been known to fight, kill, and seriously injure the other fish.
obviously you didnt listen on my other thread about cories being schooling fish. they should ideally be in groups of 6 or more, as in smaller groups they become very inactive, also if you have gravel then you have to take them back as gravel can lead to infections on them
so really it would be better is you could take the
cory
and
betta
back

As said above, corydoras need to be in larger groups, 6 is the suggested minimum. A lone one won't do very much as they won't feel as secure as they would in a larger group. I don't believe you could add a groups of corydoras to a 20Gallon though as I think it may be to small.
Gouramis and bettas definitely do not mix. The flaring will be constant and will stress the betta and gourami. Stressed fish are not healthy fish and in turn can lead to outbreaks of disease in your tank if they don't even injure eachother.
What sex are your mollies and plattys? If either species is of mixed sex you could soon end up with a tank full of fry.

Let us know what your thoughts are.

Hey everyone! I appreciate the comments and advice. I will definately put the betta back in his bowl if he is still flaring. I also will go and get 2 more Cory's. I also got a background for my tank yesterday so my tank looks beautiful!

A bowl is way to small for the betta, and it should be in a tank of 2.5 gallons or more. so you should return it if you cant provide its care
and 2 cories is simply not enough, you should ideally keep them in schools of 6 or more :good:

It's a 20gal, and if you have a cycled filter then it should be fine to get the cories up to a more suitable number (6 should be good) all in one go :good:

Take your betta or gourami back to the shop or put the betta in a separate 15L (at least) tank with a cycled filter and heater, this way you can keep both fish without them getting stressed or killing each other. :)

For sure! Ill add some more in a week or 2 :) and thanks! Im not sure the type but i will check my receipt when i get home!

Try to get them sooner rather than later, you wouldn't want to lose the one you currently have! If you can only get 2 for now, do that. Even though it's not quite enough, he'll still feel a little safer until you can get some more. :good:

If you put up a pic on here someone can ID him for you? :)

Im pretty sure they are albino. But i will get you guys to ID them when i upload :)
