Well got both my Juwel Rekord 120 and 96 set up, just waiting for the temperature to stabilise, then i will be adding a few fish....

I have kept the substrate (in cycled tank water) and also the Juwel Foam pads (in cycled tank water) The owner has had these tanks set up over 6 months each, tanks fully cycled, so i have taken the filter media etc.... So hopefully they will stay this way!!

I ended up with 3 Clown Loach, around 15 guppies, and some rummy nose tetras.....Didnt get the Albino Bristlenose, as the fish that they were keeping her husband took them to a friends for him to look after, and he took this one too by mistake....oh well....

I am so excited, and very happy for my own fish, that are currently in my 180 Vision being quarantiened as some of them have white spot...

Dont worry people NONE of these fish are going into my 120l yet, till the white spot is well and truly GONE!!

Thanx peeps...

I have now added some fish that she gave to me, after getting the temp correct, and stabilising etc.....

I have in the Juwel 120l at the moment.... 3 Clown Loach, 8 Ottos, 2 Rummynose tetra, and 3 other tetra i have yet to identify, i think maybe buneos aries...They have red tipped fins, with a red line running through there bodies...

I only wanted the Clown Loaches and Guppies, but when i opened the bags i had some extra fish.... Ah well..I thought her friend was having the ottos but for some reason, i ended up with them, and they are cute, so im keeping them :D

In my 96l i have around 15 Guppies....(this is going to stay as a guppie tank) :D

Both tanks cost me £110, included tanks, bogwood, substrate, filter media, extra filter pads, fake plants, and the above fish, so all in all not bad ay? :kana:

I also just wanted to say this... I tested the water that the fish came in which was from her tank....

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
NitrAte 10
PH 9

I couldnt believe the ph level   , i was using my master test kit, and it went dark blue with a reading of 9, my ph only measures 7.5 will this affect the fish??? Having our ph so different?

if you take your time to adapt them, the pH shock will be minimal, although that is a pretty big difference

Well, i put the fish in last night, and today when i woke up, all the fish are still alive, and doing great :D

I was a little worried about the difference in Ph level, but the fish seem to have adapted pretty well already to it....

nice 1 bet you are well pleased.
i've just sold 1 of my tanks as i need the space :-( :-( :-( & some spare money for a new external filter, so the 28gal is going next week some time but the 55 & 59 gal are happily cycling away the 55 is nearly done so will have fun restocking that when ready :hyper: :hyper:

Congratulations on your new tanks, you wont regret keeping the Otos they are super little fish.you won`t have much Algae in your tank ,thats for sure. They like Algae wafers and Cuecumber as well!!!

Thanx.....

I have been sat watching my 96L guppy tank this morning, there is alot going on in there, lots of fry being born, but being eaten staight away :-( I dont have another breeding net yet, so im just letting nature takes its course in there, survival of the fittest etc...

I have 2 Guppy fry in my 180L tank, in a breeding net, but this tank is under quaratine due to white spot...so cant transfer any of the fry to there, or vice versa....

I will be able to get another net today hopefully, then i may be able to save some fry

Congrats on the lucky find.
How meny fry do you see so far?

Well in my 120L that is only housing 8 ottos, 2 rummynose, and 4 glowlight tetras, i see 4 baby fry (guppies) as the lady who sold me these tanks, kept some guppies in here, so they must have survived in the pebbles etc, as we left a little water in the bottom when we took them...

They are swimming freely in here, and eating...

Every time i look in the 96L guppy tank, i see a couple of fry, then they get eaten :-(

If you really want them and don't have a net why not just use a big bucket, and start netting 'em up?
