Got My New Male Betta Tank! Woohoo!

I finally got my new male betta tank, it holds approx. 65 or so litres, slightly bigger than my tropical community!

So how many males bettas can i add to this tank??,

I have sand left from the 15kg bag, for plants i will take cuttings and need to buy filter and heater.
Oh yeah dividers also!

ps. i see some people have almond leaves in there filter and heater section, whats that for and do i need it?

You could use 20l per betta and have 3 bettas and then have a little section for the filter and heater or you could do 15l sections and have 4 bettas and put the heater and filter in their section, or you could go for a female sority but i think you want a male tank so ither of them Pics when done xx

I loved getting my new fish and tank! Shimmer was the best betta ever and my first Sadly hes not here anymore but thats just the way life is sometimes, i love bettas there my favourite fish! xx

Awesome, congratz on the new tank, now you can go on a shopping spree for gorgeous males

I'm not sure what the best way to split it would be, but I like the sounds of the 3 20l sections and a small section to put heater / filter etc in.

Was thinking possibly 4 males with bit for heater/filter. That would be 14.5l each.
But i most probarly wont get them all at once, so might start with 2 sections then increase.

I've brought my filter and heater off ebay now, so will wait till it comes, then do fishless cycling.

Can't wait! I will have a beautiful betta tank!!

I would set up the whole tank put the substrate down, then add the dividers then put whatever your having in each compartment eg plants etc , add the filter and heater (dont turn the heater on out of water or it will break you prob know that though haha) then add water and do you have a thermometer? You will need one to make sure the heater isnt heating more than its supposed to or less.
its your choice how to do things but if i was you i'd get the first betta then after a week id get another just to mkaeusre the first betta is ok.

Ok Cool, so i'm going to rinse tank first, probs do that tommorrow, then set everything out (already got-sand/plants/thermometer), wait for filter/ heater to arrive, put that in, then get dividers, cycle it, then get the bettas!

I might just use my Zebra Danio from my Community tank to cycle, instead of fishless cycling!

Sounds really good! you including any live plants? If so which plants? I think cambomba is a betta keepers ideal plant lol

What kind of filter is the new tank running on? Instead of fish in or fishless cycling perhaps you could consider using mature filter media from another tank or running the filter in another tank for a week (Or a combination of the two XD)

Same filter make as community tank- interpet ipf duo! Didnt want to use a new make, just incase it stops working, too used to interpet!

will defos use combination of 2. Will be easier that way...and faster!!!

Not entirely sure yet, i already have yellow HM male called Lunar,
On ebay, i have seen a blue HMPK. Sooooooo Nice!!!! I really want that!,

Will leave my current Betta Lunar in my community, he loves it there, hes the boss of that tank! King of the castle.lol!

So hopefully get the blue HMPK, a crowntail and another halfmoon. 1 of each, not 100% sure yet, but what i do know is that once setting up this tank, i will probarly end up getting a female betta sorority aswell!
