i currently have a 65 ltr tank fully matured (aqua mode 600) and i have 4 guppies 8 tetra 2 mollies 2 cat fish. i want to transfer them to my new tank asap but what is the best way to do this. the only media i can take from the old tank is the ceramic hoops (internal filter) on my new roma 200 i have an external which has 3 chambers of ceramics and im so confused please please please help my with any advise

thank you very much

maybe just transfer some of the mature media into the new filter to jump start a new cycle? im not sure if putting it all in the new tank with such a vast increase of water in comparison with the 65l will be bad or good.i would maybe think it would be ok as long as NO other fish are added just yet?i would wait for more responses before taking action :)

set the new tank up with water, plants, new filter(s) running ect, give it a day to get upto the same temp, check ph difference isn't do drastic then put the fish in and your old filter. leave it like that for around a month and then you should be able to take your old filter out leaving you just running the new one(s) :good:

Sorry to butt in as I don't know a whole lot, but i've just bought a bigger tank for my fish and was told I'd need to fishless cycle it. Adding ammonia and testing untill it reaches 0 within 12 hours for 7 days.

Yes you were told right.

If you have a filter form your old tank, then use it as is in your new tank running both filters for several weeks.
