minx-- what if i chuck the neons
in the other tank-- and left the
BN and GBR in the new set-up..

is it possible to get HIM a girlfriend..

so the whole tank will be purely for them..

There would be no problem with keeping the neons and the BN with him if you got him a girlfriend. However, just because you get a female doesnt always mean you would get a pair. But worth a try if you like, if they dont pair up, wont be a problem.
