GOT BABIES

I got some new babies about three days ago.They seem to be doing well.There is 17 in all. There may have been more but thats what I saved.The other fish were chasing them. Just waiting for the next one to pop.

Did you use a breeder trap to put the mommy in before she gave birth or did you leave her in the tank? From what you mentioned I think you left her in the tank...I have a pregnant guppy and I'm scared to leave her in the tank because the other fish will eat the fry but when I put her in the breeder trap she fights up all the time and i dont want her to be stressed out...how did you go about it? DO you have any picture of your tank?

With my guppy she was hanging out around the thermometer by her self. I knew by the way she was acting that she was close to having her babies. I put her in the breeding trap w/ a grate seperating her from the bottom. Within an hour she started having babies and all 15 survived in the trap for about 2 weeks. I then put a divider in my 55 gal tank and still have 9 that survived and are starting to get their color. I am still a newbie to fish and I just lucked into what I described above working for me.

I was watching and watching I have this guppy that looks like she ate a marble(she still does).I had this other female to but she wasn't nearly as big.Anywayz got up that morning and was watching the one that ate the marble and I seen three babies being chased by some of the other guppies so I started scooping them out. The female that had them stayed hid. I left her in the tank(which I shouldn't have done).She died a couple days later. All the babies are doing well. I don't know to much about guppies.Thats why I came to this site.When I bought them they where all in together.The one that ate the marble should pop or explode soon. I can hardly wait to see how many she has.

PS I have two tanks the guppy one 25 gallon and the convict tank30 gallon.

Is she just that fat or did she really eat a marble? if she did she will not live much longer.

I think she is close to having her babies.She was a little fat when we got her and she is even fatter now. And I am still watching and waiting.

Good luck and keep us posted on how many she has. i can just picture an oversized female....with a big round stomach!......My platy looked the same way and gave birth to 39 babies in total ...

I have new babies.She started around noon acting up.I had moved her to her own tank a couple days ago.She was swimming like mad all over the place.Then I spotted a baby then another.Anywayz in all there is 34 of them.Would have been aleast 35 but she ate one. Hard to say how many she ate but I seen her atleast one.She was popping three out than swimming crazy than sitting still and popping three more out.so much for sitting in the corner.lol.
As soon as I seen her eat that one I started netting them out.

I think I need some help. My babies are dieing.I lost six yesterday today so far three more. Whats with that. they were doing great. The ph is the same in all my tanks I change about 1/4 of the water about every four days.Can anyone help me? I feed the babies three times aday and clean the bottom everyday.

i waited for months for my mollie to have babies then i woke up one morning and she had died whilst giving birth but i had 3 fry!
All of them were deformad and had to be put to sleep*sniff*

Hi everyone my babies are doing great now.
She had the babies on Feb 17 And Another batch on march 12.So thats only like 23 days. So does that mean every 23 days she gonna pop?I thought it was suppose to be 28 days. Whats with that. My temp is running around 79
