got a so called adf how can i make sure

he is a cold water frog and he is gold in colour and has webbed back feet with little black claws and no webbing on the front feet. Please reply asap so i can get it sorted before my daughter gets too attached

All I know is that ADF's have webbed feet, others do not so I would say that what you have is a african dwarfed frog.

i think its an african clawed frog cus ive got 2 adf and theyve got webbing on front feet not claws and yours is albino and im sure adf dont come as albinos but sombody will come along and say more about to you

I should first say, ADF, ACF's and albino toads, are not cold water. I got a bit of paper with the temps needed somewhere, don't have it to hand at the mo, but I can almost say 100% it does'nt matter witch one, there not cold water. If there no web on the front feet, he/she is Iver an ACF, or and albino toad, both get quit large. One reason I don't have iver, but have 3 (more on the way.) ADF's.


OO thinking about it they maybe able to go down to 18*c, but not shore. Do a goooooooooooogle surch always helps when I need info quick.

If it's an albino and has pointy fingers, it's not an African Dwarf Frog, it's an African Clawed Frog. ADFs do not come in albino.

That's OK, they still make fine pets and with good care they can live for 15 or more years. They are extraordinary animals, but they cannot be kept with small fish once they get past the baby stage.

when i got this from my lfs they were all in cold water and all look healthy, and the little fellow i've got is eating well etc so if anybody knows if these can be cold water let me know

Your ACF can live in water between 60 and 80 degrees F.

What are you feeding him?

my water is 68.5 and i am feeding him frozen bloodworm which he loves and he shares his flakes with the fish
we called him/her lola after the kinks song because we dont know if it is a boy or girl

That's a good diet for him. He/she will grow big and strong on it. I have 5 males and they have already reached their full growth which is much smaller than my friends females.

Females have what looks like a little tail, while males do not.

Please be sure that there is no open places where it can get out of the tank. They are great jumpers.

sounds like a albino or 'gold' african clawed frog to me. because african dwarf frogs have webbed front and back. the only thing with clwed frogs is they will eat ANYTHING (yes your fishies?? if you have any) that they can scoop into theri mouthes and they grow large (big mouths)

there are lots of sites if ya go to google with pics etc lots of info out there so ya should be able to id lola
