got a new betta

well i went ot petco today to get some more cat food and just stoped in the fish section to take a quick look...I ended up leaving with a new betta. There were so many to choose from i spent forever going through them. There was this white one with maroon fins that i was in love with but he had terrible fin rot and was almost dead at the bottom of his cup so i had to force myself to pass on him. The one i got is almost completly red with turquoise around the ends of each fin. Why are bettas so addicting?

Yes its true...Most of my lfs have ok betta's. Petco has very nice betta's most of the time. Funny, you think they would not lol (Large chains don't care for fish...cough wal-mart cough)

Why are bettas so addicting?

When you get the first one,you are now owned by the betta. Thereafter,you must bring home as many members of it's family as you can possibly care and provide for or you will feel the betta begin to resent you.

Because they are so beautiful and personable and go with any home decor.

yea petco has nice bettas. they get alot in. i always hear everyone say walmart has good bettas but when i go there to look i can never find any. My next goal is to find a female.

my lfs finally got females in. THey had about 30 of em in a tank

I saw a teeny weeny girlie Betta in my LFS today....

Couldn't leave her there.....

Took her home and she is in my betta boy's tank (10L) and so far all is well..

He is a huge old betta, and she is a tiny female, so apparently not much chance of fights?

Anyway, she only has to live there for a week until my community tank is up and running...

OOH I caught the betta bug..... )

Hubby on the other hand, doesnt know how much $$$ I will be spending on Show quality Half moons im getting imported from singapore

I'm getting my second Betta soon aswell. I'm really looking forward to chosing one and everything. Its weird but shopping for fish can be really rewarding and fun Bettas gotta catch 'em all
