well i got a job at a big pet store (pets at home) and they have an aquarium section.
its really useful for gaining knowledge on fish.
altho one thing that struck me was that in the course of the day, 20 fish must have died. its very sad

we had a guy come into the shop today and picked up a goldfish tank and said he'd like some goldfish to go with it. we had to tell him he had to go home and set up his tank first and leave it for 2 days cos the chlorine would kill the fish. so he said he would buy the tank here and go to the pet shop down the road and buy his fish there on way home instead

Maybe you should've pointed to the dechlorinators? Letting water sit doesn't always work.

great job, pets at home have a good aquarium section. cant beet getting paid to look at all the different types of fish all day what seems to be the main cause of death for all these fish you say are dying??

they bought a kiddie starter tank. smallest thing ive seen.

its nice being able to look at the fish all day, i just walked back and forth eyeing up which fish i liked,lol.

i dont know why the fish were dying, they do water tests every day. i guess some must die of stress, seeing as fish are constantly being fished out to be bought, i guess it must stress the other fish out.

do you quarantine fish before they're put out on the shop floor? i've seen illness reeking havoc in tanks at in pets at home before.

and as for the guy and the goldfish tank, i just pity the goldfish, and hope the place down the road quizzed him further!!!!
