I went to my LFS and got some ghost shrimp today and when I got home there were 2 fish in the bag with them. Sorry I don't have any pictures, but I need your help. One of them is kinda clear but looks like he has a kickstand or something. Looks like a little bar or something on his belly that he raises and lowers. The other is hiding and it's been 4 hours since i've seen him, so I don't quite remember...but I was just wondering if you could help out with the kickstand fish

The only fish I can think of with any sort of 'kickstand' would be a gourami or a male guppy with a really long hoohoo.

I think it sounds like a livebearer too. They've got a gonopodium that they have amazingly good control of.  Check out the pinned topic in livebearers, I believe there is a photo of a male platy? in there.

Its small and came in a bag of ghost shrimp so how can it be a gourami?

I guarentee that it is a small brackish goby, although the actual species i cannot tell you. I have a few of these in my small brackish tank which have been rescued from the live shrimp that i feed to my large predatory fish. From time to time we also get 7 spined sticklebacks in with the shrimp too.

if this is what he is, should I take him out and acclimate him to the saltwater tank? He prolly won't last long when I get my Fuzzy Dwarf Lion next week :p

You're definitely describing a gourami. What is it's coloration?

He is clearish/light grey i guess. has a long type slender body (not even an inch long) if that makes sense...

I went back to the LFS for somemore saltwater ish and asked them about the fish. They said the striped one is a florida killifish or something. He said the other was a guppy :dunno: I didn't know they had kickstands lol
