Goodbye Midnight....

as many of you might have known, my favorite betta died of constipation.... really really bad....

so, Nyx and Dawn are still doing great. the question is, will the new crown tail replacement for midnight be good enough?

So far, he's doing good filling in the big shoes left behind, I love the coconut/pineapple mixed color he has on the bottom, and the different blue that I've not really seen on a betta yet. The flash gives a totally innacurate picture, but I'm sure in some weird lighting the color is achievable, so I'll post it, and the second pic is what he looks like normally.

I wouldn't mind this shade, but I see it too often

I love how he's not light blue or excessively dark. It's a softer color.

Your new boy is beautiful though I never consider a new fish a "replacement" more "new addition to family"....Any ideas on what you're planning on naming him?

I dont consider them replacements just one more to love.
I have been seriously thinking of not getting any more as mine die off so I could just have 4 or 5 to spoil something rotten.

you all are right, replacement isn't the right word.

But I'm just missing Midnight a lot. He was a great fish. Loved him dearly. I hate to play favorites, but he had to be mine.

But this new guy is pretty sly, and I'll be placing an order on a black one soon.

More than likely a plakat. Plakats are the ones often referred to as "fighters."

Nice mustard gas CT, though, he's quite lovely.

I don't think it's mustard gas. there's no tangible yellow. It's more white. Dawn is yellow. But it's not quite to that yellow. More of a pineapple. Here is dawn for comparison.
