Hi. I have had a 85l tropical tank for over 5 years now and am looking at starting a marine tank - very excited but feel like a total noob!!

This is what I am looking at second hand:

H240l Marine fish tank
1.2m long tank, 50cm high and 40cm deep
EHEIM trickle filter (including organic filter membranes, piping & organic matter)
RED SEA Protein Skimmer
Imported CFL light hood
2 x powerheads (one with filter canister, one plain impeller type)
200w heater
Tank Stand with cupboard for trickle filter
Approx 15-20 kg of Fiji Blue Live Rock
Full complement of test kits & buffer chemicals (worth R 2,000 by itself)
Aragonite base gravel for base of tank
2 x 20l jerry cans (for water changes etc)

Look like a decent start??

thanks
Louise

What are you planning on keeping in the tank? The CFL's will not be enough if planning to keep any coral/zoanthids etc.
