Hey,
Im setting up a 72 gallon, and i was wondering whats a pretty good skimmer? preferibly either hang on back or out side of the tank. I dont have the tank drilled or a sump. I'm looking to spend less than or around $100.

Hi,
$100 sure aint gonna get you a good skimmer for that size of tank, NEW If I were you I would be looking at gettng a good second hand one, they can be picked up relatively cheap with a little digging around the internet. Over here I would go for a Tunze or V2 Skim. Stateside will have there own brandnames.
Take a look at Fleabay also, there are tons on there.

Ok, thanks a lot. I think i found some decent ones for around $150-170 from redsea and tunze.

Decent, Skimmer and RedSea don't go in the same sentance without the word "aren't", like thus;

RedSea Skimmers aren't Descent ;) Apparently not worth the plastic they are made out of...

The Tunze skimmers are good, as are Deltec and AquaMedic :good: I've used all three before at work at some point, and I'd happily buy any of them for my own home useage :nod: I lean slightly towards the Deltec's for some reason though...

All the best

One of the more reliable hang-on's here in the states is the AquaC Remora. GREAT hang on. I'd reccomend trying fleabay or looking to find one used :)

I wouldn't touch the V2 and red sea range with a barge pole! Absolutely crap.

You get what you pay for... Tunze and deltec everytime for me. Although, if you cant stretch to their price tag, aquamedics are ok.
