12 gallon tank
23in length
12in width
12in depth

I really badly want a nice seletcion of fish...

My grandad had 12 neon tetras in his tank but all of the same is abit boring?

I want a mixture of eprosnalities :D
Any ideas :( thanks soo much to anyone that does reply

hmmmm

start with 3 cory's ( after cycling the tank), make sure you don't have a rough substrate.

Then later add 4 danios (zebra/leopard or mix)...

hows that sound?

Switch that around, danios are one of the most hardy fish out there! Add them first. I would say 6 danios, 6 cories, assuming you keep up with water changes and have the proper filtration.

The water changing should be evry?????
And the filteration I have a stanrd filter I suppose? With air pumps

I always do a least a 50% water change and gravel vac. on all of my tanks once a week and when ever I'm bored and nothing to post.

With air pumps? You mean an undergravel filter? I would also add a power filter, also know as Hang on back filters or HOBs.
Water changes, I do 30% weekly.

The amount and number of waterchanges depend upon your filter, and also whether your tank is planted or not. I have a planted tank, and do a 10% water change /week plus some vacuuming. I regularly check the water and the stats are always ok.

4 marble hatchets
10 cardinal tetra
4 black phantom tetra
4 corydoras habrosus

IMO, a 12 gallon tank isn't big enough for danios.
Normally it wouldn't, but the tank is long enough.\
BTW, it's more like 14 gallons. :)

All in a 12 gallon tank???
Easily... Fish stocking guidelines are as they say just a guide. (obviously you don't overstep too much) Provided you perform regular tank maintance the there is no reason why you cannot keep those fish in that size of tank. Below is my tank....similar dims and a few more fish....no losses or disease, all healthy and feeding on a varied diet. Research into compatibility, growth rates etc. will help you create a well balanced tank.
