Hi I have a few plants in my tank but am getting a new tank at the weekend in which I want a lot more plants. I was using tetra plantamin but it ran out a few weeks ago, since then the plants seem to not be so 'upbeat' :)
I want to buy some more but can anyone suggest maybe a cheaper option or a product better than the tetra? Do I also need the tablets that you put in the substrate? I will be using sand.
Any suggestions or tell me what you use would be great!
Thanks :good:

have a look at the EI method it is about the cheapest ,

Depends on what your lighting you have and whether you're injecting CO2 or not.

No CO2 as it al confuses me a bit and can't afford a high tech system!
Not sure on the lighting as it will be a new tank I get at the weekend and haven't a clue on the lights included!

Well, whether you need CO2 is dictated by how much light you have. Too much light and no CO2 will just cause algae.
Once we know the lighting, we can help you :good:

OK once I get the tank I will try to figure out the lights. Should it say on the lights what they are? Sorry I'm a bit of a noob :)

Yes the bulbs should have their wattage written on them. If the ballast is visible then these can also give the wattage.
