Tell me if you think this is a good feeding plan for my fish. They are in my profile.

Everyday in the morning since I'm in a hurry so I feed my cichlids and bichir some Cichlid pelets and sinking shrimp pelets, and feed my tiger barbs and dwarf gourmi some flake food. Then when I come home in the afternoon I feed them two types of live food, ie: Frozen bloodworms and brineshrimp, then tomorrow frozen mosquito larvae and plankton. This is to all of my fish.

Is that a good system or is it too much live food?

i would be more inclined to increase the feeding of pellets and reduce the live food, not get rid of it completely it's a good thing to have in the diet but I see it more as a treat than a daily food. Also make sure they're having the odd starve day, it's good for them :good:

But wouldn't the live food and the variation (I have 5 different types, includuding a frozen veggie thing that my severum whos omnivorous likes) be better for them, then dried food? It should definately be better for thier digestive system right?

I mean its got to be closer to thier acutal diet right?

Decrease the frozen food and only feed it once or twice a week rather than everyday. Also, bloodworms especially aren't good to feed everyday as some fish have a hard time digesting them and they can cause digestive problems. Also, try adding a slice of cucumber or squash with a stainless steel weight attached as a treat (use a small slice first just to see if they'll eat it). Feeding dried krill, baby shrimp (not brine shrimp; gammarus), or daphnia every other day (I alternate between them) helps their digestive system a lot and provides the roughage they need to stay healthy. I've also heard of people succesfully feeding their freshwater fish sheets of seaweed that they sell for marine herbivores. (or you can just buy some Nori from the asian section of your local grocery store)

Aight cool, I already feed tetra dried krill every couple of days in conjunction with my pelets. :)
