good cichlids for a 10 gallon tank

A pair of rams
A pair of apistos (most species, some will not like the small tank; do your research)
A pair of kribs (I have kept and bred these sucessfully in 10g aquaria)

As for africans...
A trio of neolamprologous multifasciatus
A pair of neoplamprologous brevis

Provide enough shells and all should be well for these guys...

nothing against you jeremy just that I have noticed that alot of people always mention kribs when they talk about smal species of cichlids and definatly when they are talking about new worlds. however kribs are african as well.

I really meant to specify dwarf vs. shelldwellers, rather than new/old world.

I don't think so. Jewels are extremely aggressive and need more space.

Oh, i thought u could i knew they were aggressive but thought u could cuz they only grow up to bout 4 or 5 inches anyway.

Size isn't everything. There are some small fish that need more space than bigger ones because of their aggressive and territorial natures. (They need more space to establish their own territories and defend them)
