Good Algea Eater?

Instead of getting something to clean up the algae you may want to find out why you're getting it, and take care of it.
Snails are great though, as are shrimp (just make sure they can't fit in the gourami's mouth), otos (need to be kept in groups of 6+), plecos. I don't think I'd ever get a pleco for eating algae though, would only get them if you just really liked them.
Are gouramis all that is in the tank?

A bristle nose. I have not had a speck of algae since I bought him late last year.

Nerite snails! Plecos are not effiecent algae eaters and wont go out and clean the whole tank.

I must disagree with this. My BN is never hesitant to go out and clean the walls of the tAnk. Not to mention he's more fun to watch than a snail.ncguppy830 said:

I must disagree with you, Plecos produce more waste than eat algae and Theres no saying wheter or not theyll eat the algae, with Nerites they wont be hesitatant. Another to consider is otos although.TallTree01 said:

How can anything create more waste than what it eats?
If snails do indeed eat more algae than BNs would that not also mean they crap more?

, Its diet isnt just just algae therefore it would produce twice as much waste as to algae eaten. My take on it at least, its menetioned everywhere,TallTree01 said:
