Fish Crazy
Hi all! My name is Dave, I live on the North East coast in Northumberland.
Right, where to start? I have an 80 litre tank, well established and has been going for years. Its balanced, but sadly now overstocked. My pair of angels have begun fighting as they have outgrown the tank, and since the temporary introduction of three young clown loaches to deal with a huge snail problem the fighting has worsened. Sadly one of my angels were killed (I did have three) I suspect by my breeding pair of Kribs, and so I have invested in a new, larger tank to move some of my fish into, leaving my Kribensis and a few small tetras so that the Kribs can successfully breed again.
Now, I am the sort of person that never, ever does things by halves. I am a firm believer that if you are going to do it, do it once and do it right. So I obtained a 945 litre tank so that the overcrowding problem was solved once and forever. Now, I am left with the question of what to stock it with. The tank is dry at teh moment and not cycled, but in my 80 litre tank I have a pair of angels, two Kribensis, three small clown loaches, four black skirt tetras, a columbian tetra and a bulldog plec. I plan to leave the kribs, the bulldog and the tetras in the smaller tank.
Now, I don't know a huge amount about other species of tropical fish, and what I know about mine is what I have learned myself. I am looking at what else to stock the larger tank with - anyone any ideas?
I love invertibrates, particularly the larger variety such as the cobolt blue crayfish and armoured filter shrimp - I know the crayfish have a reputation for eating other fish but in a tank of that size, would one or two of them be much of a hassle of the other fish given that (I am lead to belive) they are territorial? Also how would they do with armoured filter shrimp? I also love any and all turtles, though I KNOW they would be unsuitable to keep with fish!
What else is fairly easy to keep as a communal fish? Just looking for advice really! Anything anyone can tell me would be much appreciated!

Aye, well, picking the tank up this Saturday fingers crossed, so it'll all start to come together then. I had some camaroon shrimp in my other tank, they did really well until my other half decided to use some copper balls to weigh some cucumber down for the snails and plecs, which polluted the water and they both died within 2 days of eachother. But tehy were HUGE when they snuffed it, I was tempted to eat tehm myself! lol! I'll get some of those for the new tank, but only once it's well established.
