goldfish flake food to bulk just not to sure about giving them goldfish flake ????

the guy in the MD peteborough said bulk up the mix with goldfish flake makes things go a lot longer ????

You dont have to feed your fish much at all so id use your normal food. I dont know what protein/content there is in goldfish food so i couldnt tell you. My fish food lasts forever. I do two small feedings a day.

I only feed and recommend New Life Spectrum, it would be an ideal diet for all of them. Pellets are a much better option for them. It fills them up better and is cleaner.

So, there is a reason that it's Goldfish flake dude. It's cheaper because it's made with cheaper ingredients, and is specifically designed for goldfish. There are a million different kinds of food at there and I can guarantee that you have probably heard of more fish food brand names than baby names from an expectant mother. I can tell you from my experience that there are a few good brands to go by when it comes to fish food:

O.S.I. (Ocean Star International)
Omega One
Hikari
New Life Spectrum
Anything from the website : angelsplus.com (it's super inexpensive also)

For the most part, if you replace the goldfish flake with any of those you will be set. Africans eat a lot. If you feed them a mix, they should do just fine. Just make sure your hitting all of the dietary needs of the fish. Fish like Yellow Labs (Labidochromis caeruleous) need a very high amount of veggies such as flakes/pellets with Spirulina in them. Do some research and go from there. Also, never forget to occasionally add a little bit of frozen food and to check ebay/amazon for god deals on bulk fish food.

I have been using Tetra Prima and Nutrafin flake on recommendation. Have a friend who breeds Malawis who feeds it, some of the Prima floats some stays suspended and some sinks, better if you have a powerhead to blow the food about. In his tank he keeps Juves with adults when they are spat and they seem to grow up well enough on the prima Nutrafin mix.

its not that i am just thinking about feeding goldfish food as well as the other foods the guy at MD said mix it all together so it makes it all go longer :)

but i am thinking its not the best to feed goldfish flack to Malawi so have not don't it i think i will be taking it back as i think the guy just saw me as a walking wallet :(

i am thinking i need to lean more :)
