can i keep 3 feeder type goldfish in a 10 gallon tank. My cousin 95) wants to make his tank a tropical tank and he wants someone he knows to keep his goldfish so he can visit them. Would i be able to do this?

no
goldfish need 20 gallons for the first fish and 10 gallons for each additinal fish, therefore 3 goldfish need 40 gallons.

No, you would need a 40 gallon tank. A male betta would do very nice in a ten gallon though.

A goldfish would love a nice big pond to swim around in. As long as there are no racoons

Or big birdies :) You might be able to get away with one in there. I know Wolf said 20 but it really depends on how old the fish are compared with their age. My mums friend has some 20 year old goldies and they are only 3 inches ish.

 thats because they are stunted

I've seen a gold fish 6 inches long in a 10 gallon (later moved to a pond so don't go and have a heart attack) his growth wasn't stunted.

that was my next choice. It was either buy a heater for the one gallon or put it in teh 10 gallon. I also am planning on getting a Plakat for my 55 if i can find one. I am not really worried bcuz there isnt anything left in there tht he would be interested in killing.
