Goldfish Can't Find Food!

awwwww the pony sounds lovely.

i think it's important to take it seriously, when you keep a pet you are taking on responsibilities for it's life and well being. the animal did not choose to come to you, you chose it, so it is your responsibility to make sure you understand what it needs and do your best to provide it.

my little sis has just moved out of home leaving my mum with the house to herself for the first time in about 30 years...... i've been taking the mickey about her empty nest syndrome too!!! ;)

I agree, lots of animals suffer, because of irresponsible owners, it is so nice to meet someone who takes even a goldfish seriously, everyone on this forum is so good, and does not think us newbies are asking stupid questions. I check in every day, just to browse and learn so much,.

I still have my 13 year old daughter at home at the moment, so not too much of an empty nest, when she leaves home, I am gonna get the biggest tank I can afford and fill it with beautiful tropical fish!! that said, my son will probably be back by then.

My parents used to breed tropical fish when I was a kid, putting sponges in the top of the breeding tanks for the babies to hide in, I remember my Mum being very upset when her Discus died.

I too could get into this fish thing, and am being very restrained!!

well why should a goldie be taken any less seriously than a cat or dog or any other animal? who are we to decide what is worthy of a good life or not?!

I honestly believe the common goldfish is the most mis-treated animal on this planet. you can't get through to everyone, but if someone comes here asking for advice we should do everything in our power to help them.

he he he, yeah i can see you getting into fishkeeping in a big way, see you may think you don't have anywhere for tanks to go, but sooner or later you'll catch yourself pondering over how you could re-arrange the living room to fit a nice big tropical tank in..... :shifty: :shifty: :shifty:

it's a downhill slope from there, we call it MTS..... Multiple Tank Syndrome...... it can be a very serious condition with sufferers (and their significant others!) experiencing bouts of insane and obsessive behaviour, decreased financial assets and a whole lot less time than before!! :hyper:

MTS, very funny   I think I could catch it quite easy!!

I love gardening too, my friend and I are the same, and always buying plants and trying to squeeze em in to any available space, again it is a disease!! MPS, multiple plant syndrome!!

Must get some work done now, bye for now, will keep you posted.

I used Interpet no.9 for my betta's pop eye (or what I suspect was popeye) before I went away, and could see a big difference when I came back 3 days later.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.
