goldfish acting very weird

hey,
we have a tank, and one of our goldfish is acting very strange.
getting fat, and near the tail...meaning rite b4 it, it has a white spot where the scales are missing. also, instead of getting excited when fed, it just floats near the bottom, head down looking and scanning the ground.

any thoughts?

the spot could be any number of things,
to help you better we need to know a bit more info.
what size is the tank, and is it filtered?
what are the other fish with this one and how many?
what are your water parameters, IE ammonia, nitrItes, NitrAtes, pH etc.?
is that all the symptoms; IE is there any rapid gill movement , clamped fins etc?

Same as wolf has mentioned need water stats, tank in gallons, how many fish are in there and what type, the whitespot does it have a circling of red on the outside or a red spot in the middle.
