Golden Ram Sudden Drop In Health

last week my single male golden ram was fine and happy, however slowly over the last few days he has become paler lost most of the red from his noce/forehead, developed red marks around his mouth which have spread to his gills and his breathign has increasingly got more and more rapid. and his eyes seem to be protruding from his head more.

water stats are
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 30ppm

no other stressful tankmates or recent additions to the tank

nothing has changed really just wondering if anybody has any ideas about this sudden onset
