That is one sexy fish. I have a green severum about that size and his color changes based on his mood. How old is your fish?
Well... "Sunny", that's his name... I've had him for about 1 year now... got him in some little rinky-dink pet shop, and he was a mixed Cichlid tank... ACTUALLY my first fish! Had no idea what kinda of fish that it was... my wife liked the color of him, he was kinda the color of a Creamcicle and about 1.5" in length. Paid about 3$... had him in my first tank a 27gal Hex... bought a 55gal to put him in when he reached about 3.5 inches.... now he's about 7" long and 2" wide... Does he look FAT?
I had a Knifefish and Elephant nose in that 27 with him, so I would feed him frozen cubes and cichlid pellets.
Not sure if the frozen cubes helped him grow so fast, is that usual...
Turned out to be a pretty beautiful fish! (at least in my NOVICE opinion).

ive got 2 green sevs but ones still only about 2" so im waiting for his growth spurt to kick in.
i wasnt looking for a gold but now ive seen yours.... hmmm.
I had a Green Sev, but he didn't get along with the gold one, so I had to give him away at about 3.5". The sex of mine (lengthing of fins, didn't occur until about 4" in legnth) So we THOUGHT the Gold one was a girl, and bought a "Distinctly" MALE Green one... about 3 weeks later the Gold ones fins got very long... and we had two boys, who just stressed each other out!
Strangely enough, I have not seen a gold one as vibrant as mine, most big ones in my local LFS look almost White and kinda dirty looking!
Guess I got REALLY lucky!
