very nice good depth of field in most of them too

I normally get on well with a fixed shutter speed of between 1/30 - 1/50 and lower the ISO or set to manual (400ish)...if you try with the ISO rating set to say 100 you'll find a lower shutter speed is needed and you'll have a hard job getting sharp pics because love to move :)

I'm using a 100mm fixed macro with no stabilisation, so good shutter speed is a necessity unless I get the tripod out and then the fish are moving too much anyway :)

I'll look forward to the pics next weekend right?

im using a canon eos 400d with canon efs 60mm macro lens with image stabilisation , gonna suck when i have to give it back lol i just gotta get me 1 of these :hey: yes rest assured there will be a serious pic overload on saturday , its the whole reason i borrowed a decent camera :good:

Yeah I have a Canon 450d, I haven't used it as much as I wish I had but it certainly captures great shots (if you take enough!)

You might want to also try using the standard kit lens too if that's with the camera, you'll be surprised what you can do with them from further away, nice groups shots etc thanks to better depth of field :)

ive only got the macro lens my dad kept the standard kit lens to use on his other body .

Lovely Rams, Mark. I had a couple a while ago but they were tiddlers and didn't seem to like my water changes. Pity, as they are lovely fish. Hope you have better luck with yours :)

thanks grumpygourami , i have had them about 2 weeks now , they are inquisitive little buggers , the follow the syphon around while im cleaning the sand , then play in the bubbles from the hosepipe when i re-fill the tank
