I am looking into getting some corys for my tank. I like the look of the "laser" veriaties.

i have a couple of questions

Is the gold/green laser cory the same species as the Peru gold/green stripe cory?

If i got 3 gold & 3 green would they school together?

cheers

Tom

Gold & green stripes are also known has lasers :good: gorgeous corys  but then i'm bias over corys

They do tend to prefer their own kind, but will probably shoal at times also :good:

They are quite hard to get hold off, ebay did have them for £15 each + p&p

I ordered some golds which are beatiful the only thing i would say is mine look darker in the body than some pictures i see on the net and are more yellow than the ones shown in harliquins sig, which seem to have a tint of orange which i would have prefered. Mine look like the green ones but with yellow stripes. and where sold as gold lasers.

My cories don't seem to shoal at all. It's a miracle if i see more than 2-3 of the same type together at the same time. Not sure if in time they will start grouping up or whether I just have anti-social corydoras. Absolutely love them though.

Ok I have found a couple of suppliers but I have never seen them in real life so i will be buying blind.
I am tempted by the green ones becuase they look so unusual. But the gold ones look awsome as well.

Sheesh, decisions decisions.

Edit.

The corys are currently being kept in water with ph 7. My tank is ph 8.2.

Will that be too much of a difference?

If your ordering off the internet they will be travelling for upto 24 hours so i would reccomend drip acclimisaton anyway. What i did with mine. If you want i can upload a pic of my gold lasers, since i found the picture on the site was far lighter than the fish provided.

Picture would be most welcome.

I was going to drip acclimatise the fish anyway, so thats no big chore.
