I wondered if something was wrong with Sal, the Gold gourami. She was staying in one spot in the tank most of the day. She would venture over to see me if I looked in at her. As soon as I opened the lid this evening to feed krill, she was up there snatching pieces. No problem there. I watched her later and realized the section of tank she is hanging out in has the piece of zucchini I put in there late last night. I think she is guarding it! Her belly is quite full, I should add. That crazy fish.

 Bless. Not to worry. I have 4 golden gouramies and the male is a regular bubble nester. In my morning feeding rounds I put my hand over by his nest today, purely by accident I might add, and he charged me! If he had teeth I'd have had part of my hand ripped off! :S Twice he threw himself at me and bit at my hand. it's not as if any of the females are yet producing eggs so the nest is empty but he is just that highly aggressive about it.
Mind you, after I'd withdrawn and let him be looking quite bemused he went and gulped in a load of air like he'd run a marathon, bless him. Now he's just acting butch again.
Hugs,
P.
