Have you checked the bottom of your shoe?
My friend called me a couple of minutes ago saying she had hopefully cured her algae problems with the addition of two gold algae eaters. However, she cannot find anything about them on her computer. I told her that I'd ask here.

What she wants to know is:

1. How big do they get?
2. Are they aggressive or territorial, at all?
3. What do they eat?
4. Will they eat her tetras, betta and female guppy?

Thanks,
Skylar.

Opps, mistake I think, Gold algae eaters are a colour morph of the Chinese algae eater. Up to 10" and aggresive as they mature.

[EDIT: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Di...4&TopCatId=1162 The info here is ok, but why they say they need hiding places is beyond me, IME they are the most aggresive in the tank and eat algae, flake, live, frozen and LIVE FISH]

Those fish are bad news. Tell here to get rid of them. I had 2 in my 4ft tank and as soon as they got about 3" they started attacking most of my other fish. They also grow up to about 10" there are alot of other fish which are better suited to algae eating is siamese algae eaters, ottos's, cherry barbs, brisstlenose.

I had to fully pull my tank apart to pull them out as they are phscho swimmers

good luck

It also depends on the other fish in the tank.

I had them in my Commmunity tank when i 1st started. They were the 1st fish to go in.

I had a group of 3 and never lost any fish to them, they kept their aggression amongst themselves.

They are Very Impressive looking when they get to 5 Inches. But they do have a very bad Rep.

Well, I decided to take one off her hands and put it in my tank because her betta costed around $250 or something like that. It hasn't bothered any of my fish yet but she is seeing some aggression with the one in her tank so I may take that one too.
