Going to work and leavin light on ???

Ive read that you are supose to leave the light on for about 8-12 hours a day, well im out at work for about 11 hours sometimes, so when i come in i have to switch the light off and not see my fish
What do other people do ?

There's quite a lot of people who use a 'moonlight light'. Far as I'm aware its a blue-ish light that gives the fish the feeling its night time, but you will still be able to see them properly.

I'd say, get some fish that are active during the night then (kuhli loaches would be 1 ) and you should be able to enjoy most of your fish when you get back from work

My lights come on late, 11am to 11pm.

put your lights on a timer and set them to come on later in the morning and go off later at night.
Mine is et to come on at 7:30 am and off at 10 pm. there are times I get home later than that but it usually means I have time in the morning to look at them.
