Going to be a dental floss tycoon (as Frank Zappa said) LOL
We are driving to Whitefish, MT for a relative's "destination wedding" in August. I'd like to visit Glacier Nat'l Park but we're not up for hiking. I'm kind of worried about a driving timed day pass with all the funding cutbacks & organized wedding activities. Does anyone have some short "can't miss" suggestions? I'm sure we won't have time for the long drive to the famous "mountaintop" view turnaround area, or a long boat tour.
My husband wants to do a helicopter tour, but I don't really. We did it in Maui & it was pretty of fun despite our post wedding hangovers. Nothing like the almost scary 1 he did on a biz trip to Kauai many years ago. (think Hawaii 5-0 adventurous opening). The 'copters are much smaller, a 500lb weight maximum. So, that'd be both of us & a small other person, or him & 2 not quite as small relatives. I haven't asked how much this little jaunt might cost & who he'd invite...there could be hurt feelings or embarrassing weigh ins, eek!
Any other things we should consider? I've had elk, bison, moose & bear meat so I'm ok skipping them (especially bear, lol). Huckleberry anything might be really good, but not on meats. There's a brunch-y restaurant with a good pie reputation I plan to go to. I love most any kind of pie. Anything else I should look into foodwise? I know some of you guys live "up there". What say you? (no snake meat please. Looking at you Badger
even if it tastes like chicken & could be made into a bow
).
As you can tell we not quite ready. We don't even have "wedding clothes" picked out yet. My husband thinks he needs a bolo tie for the cowboy thing (OMG, line dancing?!? I'll be happy to watch). I hope our usual fish-sitter is available. Any suggestions for our trip would be welcome.
Times ticking...
