Going To Get Some Myxazin To Treat Mouth Rot....

I'm currently treating the tank with pimafix and melafix, the mouth rot at the moment is nothing more than a white spot on my zebra danios lip, so not sure if the pimafix has stopped it getting worse....it's been there roughly 10 days or so, it came while i was treating ich, so for ages i assumed it was a white spot but it never went away.

I was planning to keep trying pimafix and melafix for another week, and if it's not changed I wanted to try a proper medication......

Ok after advice I am going for waterlife's myxazin, it says harmless to filter media, not sure about plants but I hope they will be ok......any directions on using this treatment....anyone have experience??

I will be sure to post back with my results of using it, so as to help any others who suffer columnaris!

A bad strain of mouthrot columnaris can soon rot the mouth away.
In uk for columnaris myxazin by waterlife and pimafix.
The white spot on the mouth does it have a tinging of red around the edges.

Not red that i've noticed but danios hardly keep still as it is.....are you saying pimafix as well as myaxzin?
Any links to where I can get myaxzin?

cheers, not seen it in lfs down here....only interpet stuff and melafix and pimafix....

You can use the anti internal bacteria med and pimafix, but you will need to increase aeration in the tank.

ok that's no problem....how long should the mouth rot clear up in once I start treatment?

To be honest can't say as columnaris spots are hard to get rid of.

Thanks Wilder.....can I keeping treating after 5 days without a water change til the 7th day, or do I need a water change after 5??
I've got enough myxazin for 4 weeks worth for my tank, so I'm not fussed, so long as it does help eventually

If the med tells you to do a water change after 5 days I would.
Run some carbon for a day, then demove the black carbon add the med again.

Nah it just says treat for 5 days....says nothing about water changing....I guess you do as normal.
Only pimafix and melafix say treat for 7 days then water change

I would do another round afer the first treatment is up.

Gonna have to as it's 5 days 2morrow and no real difference and I think my tetra have caused yet another relapse of fin rot to my betta
They are gonna have to go.....gonna section them off 2morrow where they will remain til the tank is cured, and then they are goin back to LFS and I will get some harlequin rasboras instead

Have now been treating the columnaris for 7 days....the danios lump went right up almost to a point, like a spot that really needed to pop, and has now reduced in size again.....do you think this is healing?
I will continue with the myaxzin and pimafix for the next week and see how it goes

If the spot got worse and is now decreasing in its size carry on another week with the med.
