hey guy's.

i've read a few conflicting things really so im looking for the right info.

i have a fluval in the current tank that is well established approx a yr, and i have a second hand cascade external filter which up until yesterday was also in a tank,

shall i put the external one in my current tank to keep the bacteria going?

next when i do the larger tank,

i will put the new substartes and gravel in and then fill with water from the tap, then do i treat the water? and leave for a day or so, then add one of the filters mainly the larger external one to help get the bacteria going, then i will start to plant?

what else do i need to do?

how long should it take

btw my tank is 42.5" x 14" x 20.5" what gallon/litre is this??? crap at maths

cheers jake

Whether it's new water you add to a tank, replacement water after a water change, or even top-off water - you should always make sure that the water has been treated for removing chlorine/chlorimine or harmful deposits that may be in your water.
