Hey Hey,
Could anyone identify these for me? I bought them about two months ago sold as fresh water, 'black-line desert sand gobies' and I can find nothing from googling apart from marine speicies.

I would say that they are definately fresh water they are thriving in the tank, they shoal but also pair up, I bought four but get the feeling that they would be happier in a larger group (will try to get out to swindon to pick up some more). Very playful with each other each pair curl up in what looks like a mating display from time to time and they dig into the sand furiously, move in a kind of darting mudskipper way around the bottom but also swim around mid tank. Happily take flake food but also seem to be algae eaters.

Very entertaining fish with alot of character. I definately recommend them if anyone comes across them. To get an idea of size there is a Coolie loach in one of the pictures, they are quite small.

Oops! I didn't mean to put this in this forum, I meant it to go in general if anyone has the heart to move it please

The closest i could find is a Black-lined Sleeper (Goby Valenciennea helsdingenii), but i could be
very wrong. lol!

Cheers for looking, thats what I found to, but they are nothing like and would not survive in my tank for more than a day I'm sure.
