Go PETA!

That's great that they have that. I don't agree with everything they say on there...but it's good enough.
I think some male bettas really do prefer to be solitary while others don't. It's basically based on the bettas's personality.

They have billboards up now of a hook in a fish and it say's "Would you do this to your dog? Fishing hurts!" It was funny but true at the same time. I always want to pour melafix in the water when I fish :X Oddly the fish is in a dog's mouth though....?

I'm with mm_simb, I agree with a lot of it and I'm so glad to hear they're including fish in their efforts! Although we'll soon all be bad for keeping them at all :p (kidding!)

I clicked in a ways and found this....

http://www.peta.org/feat/aquab/wycd.html

It lists phone numbers of the top dogs at PetSmart, WalMart and other places that sell bettas in vases.

Great link! I had looked on the PETA site quite a while when I was contacting them but never stumbled across this. Thanks for sharing!

As reluctant as I am to praise PETA for anything considering what else I know about them....

I think this and many of the other things they have done for animals is a very, very, very good thing, and they should keep this much of it up. I'm glad to see them tackling the issues of fish and especially Bettas, since Bettas tend to be more abused than most fish (or perhaps it's just more obvious?).

Ew PETA :grr: ....at least they are tackling something that needs attention this time. Sometimes they hit the nail on the head and bring light to an issue that many people are ignorant about.

I agree with most posters here. I do not believe in PETA for the most part. I don't agree with how they go about most things is really what I should say. I also don't agree with all the things in the link, but for the most part, it was informative and it is a good read for someone who knows nothing about bettas.

PETA has one good thing going for it, everyone knows them, and to a degree, everyone has respect for them. I must say that although I disagree with some things they do/say, they offer shocking truth on the exploitation of animals in every inch of our world.

Bettas need a minimum of 10 gallons according to PETA. Hey, I won't argue, it's better than saying they need a minimum of a cup like some places.

Nice

I actually wrote them a letter a while back when I stumbled upon those Aquababy autrocities.

It seems like they're just swinging the hammer wildly and hitting the nail on the head this time was by pure accident
That's my basic opinion of PETA in a nutshell. They try, but sometimes they try too hand. Hammers are a useful tool, but when applied the wrong way can do more harm than good -_-

I agree completly. Some people can't handle the truth I guess when they say they hate PETA :dunno: They DO go over board sometimes, but really, how else are they going to get the point across?
