Hi all,

this morning after I fed the fish, one of the female glow lights was very listless and the other glow lights had moved away from her. Yesterday morning she was courting with a male and they were rubbing each other in the plants so I assumed they were preparing to spawn.

About an hour ago she jumped out of the water and a spray of eggs came out of her. The male seemed to be avoiding her. Sadly she died about a minute later and all the other fish started attacking her belly. She was up until yesterday, in full breeding colours. Her belly had gone iridescent purple, her fins had taken on a stronger red as had her glow stripe, and her top had gone a lovely yellow and green.

I've had the fish since December but have recently moved house, which is when she started getting all broody. Is this a freak accident or can it happen to my other tetras too?

Cheers

Paul
