Would there be any isses to grow hairgrass and glosso in the same area of the tank or would the glosso (due to it being a fast grower) just overtake the hairgrass?

Thanks.
Darren

I assume the glosso could take over but then again, hair grass is quite tall for a carpet and may be alright, not sure though.
What you could do is plant the glosso, give it time to carpet and then take out some plantlets and replace with hairgrass. Just a though.
IMO glosso amounst hairgrass wouldnt look that good. Bit messy. Hair grass behind glosso though, would be v.nice.

Tanks for the reply mate. Was going to see what it looked like together with hopefully the glosso between the hairgrass. But i think it might just stop the hairgrass growinf wtc.

Thanks.

They go very well together, very Nature Aquarium style. You'll need good light, CO2 and nutrients though.

If you do succeed with them both then growing the hairgrass amongst the glosso creates a natural look i.e. using the haigrass as highlights.

You can easily control the glosso by pruning, especially in the small confines of a nano.

Sounds just like what i want to do. I got another light for my nano so that makes it 22 Watts. My hairgrass has already started sprouting new shoots so i guess its happily set in So now im contemplating getting the glooso to go around it so i guess il try it out. Guess i have nothing to lose (except my money if the plat dies lol).

Like i said i believe i have sufficent light in my nano, using a sand substrate which should be fine for the glosso. I use yeast CO2 so would this be good enough? I use a glass nano diffser from AE. I havent yet dossed any ferts yet though so this could be an issue though?

Good CO2 and ferts are essential for success with glosso, more so if you have plain sand substrate.

Ok, would HC (Cuba) be a better option? Or is there any way i could add neutriants to my sand. Ive heard not so good things about laterate and sand which is why i never added it.

Thanks for your help George much appricated.
