How hardy are glosso and baby tears (Hemianthus micranthemoides)? I know glosso is not a beginners plant but once its established its it still "not a beginners plant"? ANd i know google has lots of images of these plants but I want to see what yours look like :) thanks

heres a pic of them in my 2.5 gal before :( sadly this tank was torn down because of algae

for me pearlweed needs more care compared to glosso

with a decent amount of light (2 wpg and over) and co2 both should do okay. laterite or simmillar in the substrate will really help glosso to carpet well

I think its Micranthemum Umbrosum, Kenneth Kpes is Hemianthus micranthemoides.

I find then both easy to grow (glosso and HM) with enough light etc, the HM is prone to algae and is has quite a delicate leaf structure.

zig do you notice your HM growing transparent leaves ? is this normal ? in my main tank the HM growth is a bit frail and transparent...

I dont notice it on mine Kenneth :D mine is nice and healthy looking.

I have Baby Tears in my tank at the moment - grows about an inch a week. I run 1.25 wpg and have Co2. it looks really nice if you keep it cut down so it forms a thick mass.

up im dosing MG and CA... but not too much only 1/8 teaspoon of a 3:1 ratio of MG and CA il try and increase it next water change to 1/4-1/3 teaspoon...

im also getting a pottasium def... looks like the K in KNo3 isn't enough....

How much KNO3 are you dosing? K isn't used up as readily as N so normally there's enough in KNO3 alone if your dosing plenty.

More KNO3 or K2SO4 is the obvious choice if in any doubt.

Are you sure it isn't N def over K? Old glosso leaves die prematurely with N def. They go yellow real quick, get covered in algae and holes appear too.
