well i did a 260 mile round trip today to collect a pair of Gliders. They are gorgeous  The female has a joey in her pouch.
I will take some Pictures once they settle in but i dont want to stress them

Wow I bet they are ! They are called "sugar gliders" right ?

Have you kept them before ? They look very cute but what kind of pets do they make and what kind of "accommodation" do you have to give them ?

For those who don't know what they are: here's a pic

Yes Sugar Gliders
I havent had them before but have been researching them for about 9 months now then i had the chance of this pair with a joey and i jumped at the chance.
I have them in a 4ft High 3ft L and 2ft D cage at the moment but i am planning on upgrading them to one of the XL Ferplast Aviarys once they are settled in.
They do make great pets and this pair although only got here at 4pm when i was feeding them tonight the female jumped onto my arm.You can let them out in the room and they will glide given the chance

Well, the livejournal community is "baaaaabyanimals" (5 A's, I counted. ), so it's a baby sugar glider (the person who found it found it via google, so they didn't have it in their posession... likely just did as I did, point to the picture and make funny noises). I was into sugar gliders before that picture, and after I found it, I would often be seen making a high pitched "kreeee" sound and then swooping left and right, like a vampire fleeing the light. Dang, cute like that is practically a concealed weapon. :D

I met a lovely pair of Sugar Gliders at a show last year - it's the only time I've met them in the flesh. The way they jumped from person to person was amazing, although I must admit to standing back when someone whispered in my ear that they'd jumped on her and bit her

OMG soritan, cuteness overload!!! I've personally never wanted a sugerglider, but dear God, that's just too adorable.
That makes me want a small cute fluffy critter again so bad... I've had dwarf mice and pygmy dormice in the past... you wanna talk about omg cute!!! What I wouldn't give to get my hands on either of those again!

EDIT: Or a pygmy possum...

><

Oi.

I also dig tiny bats. :D I wouldn't ever own one, but whenever Halloween rolls round, I pick up bat stuff. My cats drink from a bat shaped bowl and a ghost shaped bowl. One of these days, I gotta grow out of that.

edit: That pygmy possum is so freakin cute. >< He's all like, "Don't hurt meeeee. o,o I'm small."

You like bats too? :look:
They've been my fave animal since 4th grade, I've always wanted one. It's quite illegal of course, but I almost got one a couple of years ago... it was a baby someone had found on the ground fallen out of its colony and gave to my anatomy teacher's dad. Too bad his dad is a prof at the local college and gave it to one of his zoology students instead :X

I'll stop hijacking now

Bats are my favorite animal, too! :shout: Bats and otters, I'd love to have either one. Synirr I know you must know of that overpass here in Texas where the bats go once a year or something. I plan to go there someday. And Soritan, I stock up on bat stuff at Halloween too! :look: The bat house at the zoo is like my favorite place in the world, but it also makes me sad to see them confined. I'd like to set up a bat house someday. I remember the first time I ever saw one, I was like 4 in NY and they were flying overhead and everyone kept saying "get inside, they'll get in your hair and tangle!" but I just stood there in awe.

Graham, I can't wait for the pics of her with her joey! man oh man it would (will?) be hard to part with them, I'm sure.

I've seen them fly out from the overpass Wuv, it was amazing! I've also seen them leaving some cave (forgot which), but it was really neat because they all spiraled up in this big bat tornado before flying off

They are starting to trust me so i will get Pics soon,I didnt want to risk stressing them with her having the Joey, the joey is close to leaving the pouch now because yesterday its back half was out

We have Pipistrel bats in our loft  they roost there every day and hibernate in there all winter

I can't wait to see pics of the joey!!! :hyper:
Also, bats in the loft? You are SO LUCKY!
