Glass Fish Madness

i have just got 2 new glass fish and last night i turned on the tank light to find them randomly chasing their tails (or what seemed it) I don't know why they are doing it and they seem to be fine. After chasing their tails they seem to flop upside down to the bottom of the tank panting...WHAT IS GOING ON!?

no but it was acting as if it was out of the water...flapping about

Which Glassfish species did you get?

Some need brackish water, while others like my Humpheads need riverine freshwater conditions.

A pic or five may help us identify which species you have, "nmonks" would definitely be worth contacting (Neale, who writes articles for places like Practical Fish Keeping, our resident guru on many fish)

hmmm... i can't get pictures on here everytime i try it doesn't let me...and thet glass fish has a red tail...if that's any help to you.

Can you pop back to the fish shop and verify the species name with staff?

They're doing fine...no more dogey splashing i think they're ok again
