Hi,

I used one of the sub-£10 ones from Aquaessentials with my nutrafin kit. Worked really well, but better on my new pessurised kit! :)

Cheers guys. Spot on. I just wasnt sure what would work when I get my nutrafin kit.
They look nicer than the plastic ladders. Do they work better too?

Thanks again

Supposedly they work better, and guess I can see the thinking behind that, as the bubbles produced are tiny to have a huge surface area, increasing diffusion. And yes they look much nicer IMO!

One thing you'll probably notice is that the surface of the ceramic disc will need cleaning regularly to clear off the white gunk 'CO2 snot' that builds up.

You can cut down on this by adding a separate bubble counter between the nutrafin canister and diffuser.
Something like THIS . As with most things you can make your own with a small (33ml) pop bottle and some tubing, but for less than £4 these look neater.

They will also allow you to see when your CO2 production is slowing down and it's time to change the mix.

I just started using a Spio 3 diffuser I bought on Ebay and it's working great. Some people have said that they don't work well with diy yeast but in my case I'm using 2 bottles so the pressure is probably greater.
