Do they make products to patch a leak temporarily (to keep all the water from spilling onto the floor, assuming you're lucky enough to be home when a leak begins) with the aquarium still wet, until you can drain it and dry it and use the permanent stuff?

Don't have a leak, but just wondering what to do if it happens so I don't have to mop 55 gallons of water off the living room floor.
Thanks!!

But wait, there's more!

I would wonder if this product is safe for aquarium use. I would also wonder how easy it is to remove once you have the time to properly reseal the aquarium. It appears to be an epoxy product in putty form, something that can be found at most auto repair or body & fender shops. I don't know if these are aquarium safe, though I have seen people fix fiberglass tubs & ponds with body & fender products with no adverse effects to the fish.

Let's ask Billy Mays! In the promo he's standing over an aquarium showing how it stops leaks, but that doesn't necessarily mean they've tested its short and long-term effects on fish health. I'll look into what's in it and post anything I might be able to find. Thanks for the lead!

if its a leak at the corners (where the glass meets) then aquarium silicone will do the trick. i have some just incase and because i need it to attatch the 3d rocky background, (when the tank arives) :shout:
