Glass Algae and Snails issue

I have 1 year old matured tank 17 gallon. neglect on care not change fro long time. having only 3 amino srimp with very small plants.

Now I decided to start working on the tank. So yesterday I change 70% water. But I have in bottom some algae on the glass and lot of snails.

So I was looking for way to remove snails and algae. And also want to know are they bad for the tank.
