I've read a lot of times that you guys give peas to your fish. Why is this? Also do you mean like a frozen pea that's defrosted or do I need to buy fresh peas. How do you give it? Whole or cut up? And how many per fish? Thanks

I give frozen peas that I boil for a couple minutes, remove the skin, and then squish into small pieces. It helps with constipation, so if your fish are looking a little bloated, one pea for every 2 fish about once a week may be the answer.

Thanks they aren't constipated but is it good to give peas every so often anyway?

Yes, it is; fish benefit from a varied diet as much as people do :)

i use canned sweet peas, really cheap for a can, and then just freeze the left overs in ice cube trays. makes perfect little portions (i cut the cube in half)

I grab a few out of the bag, pop them in the microwave for a few seconds to defrost them and soften them up a bit, remove the outer shell, and mash up the insides just before I drop it in the tank.
