OK, now I am almost certain that Loki is a girl (and eggy at that!) I am considering moving her into my 4ft community tank. If I do, I will buy some more girls too - probably another 6 i am thinking...
At the moment, the community is overstocked due to baby kribs growing out, and the LFS won't take any more for another month! So I am just planning now..... cos i want the divided space that Loki lives in for ANOTHER boy! :p
So, I know that 7 females should be fine, aggression wise. And I have read up about bagging them all when newbies move in so they all establish territory/pecking order at the same time. What i am worried about is my other fish, and whether any of them will cause a problem.
I assume the pleco won't even notice them, he only notices the gourami and adult krib, who always try to steal his food from under his nose! There will be 2 gouramis in there by the time the baby kribs move out, and I am just keeping my adult krib alone. Also, there are 5 giant danios, and 7 guppies, and 10 zebra danios are due to move in once the baby kribs go. Now I know guppies and MALE bettas are a no go, but what about with females? I do have a 2ft under the 4ft that the guppies used to live in, they can go back there is need be.
So, should I be OK doing this? I don't want Loki to keep getting eggy as I am scared she will become eggbound, and I don't want to breed her as I have no room for babies and would hate to cull.
Advice please!

i would see the guppies and possible gourami as a problem, my females killed off my guppies one by one (female guppies at that) but i suppose you could try it, how bout putting the females in the 2ft?

The 2ft is narrow, only 50 litres - would that be OK for around 7 girls? I would spend all my time lying on the floor watching them :p

Yes you should be fine with 7 girls Tibby......just make sure you have lots of plants and places for them to hide :good:

I have my 7 girls in a 2ft tank.

They seem fine for the most part, just every now and then get into a squabble.
