The girls in the BirOb always come over to say Hi in the morning, and have a tummy rub if we have time. This morning one did not seem keen to come over while the others where there. When I say down for a cuppa was looking into their biOrb and notices one has a huge chunck missing from her side  put her into the little hospital tank with some salt and melafix, it really does not look good.

Has anyone experienced this with their girls? I have taken them all out of their home for a while and just spread them around a bit and will put them all back together in a while.

Do you think she will repair?

Aww no, how many girls do you keep together?

There are five together, one was out for 12 hours as she was getting jiggy with Custard overnight. Put her back in this morning and noticed this. There were 4 originally, but got the extra girl last week at Amwell taking them to five.

Not even sure if 'she' is a she lol, there are bubbles being built in there, going to check later when she is less stressed to see she is not a he.

I hope they'll be ok - supposed I fot this all to come

I hope your girl is ok and gets better, i know my girls tore the betta we had in already but she was a he needless to say they may as well of eaten him we unfortunatly couldnt save him

That is what it looks like, like it has been eaten on the side the flesh is showing and looks chewed :(

Yeah, will do tomorrow, tried tonight in the hossy tank but its not a clear tank. On change over tomorrow will take a piccie.

If you remove one female overnight or buy in a new one its always best to remove all of the girls move stuff around and reintroduce tham an hour later all at the same time (one after the other) other wise they will pic on the "new girl"

I hope she will be ok, just lots of clean water and tlc

That happens sometimes. There's not much you can do about it. Girls tend to know when another girl is weak and take advantage of it. Termini, my most recent Petco rescue was a beatiful CT girl. I lost her because she was heavy with eggs and i wasn't home over the weekend. She died and was devoured by the other girls. Its sad really. But that's how it goes in sororities!

Im glad you got your girl out in time. Best of luck to you and her, and my prayers as a fellow soro-keeper.

She seemed ok this morning when I got up, she managed a betta pellet and sniffed her flake. I think she can pull through, just got to keep her water nice and clean. I am keeping her unfiltered and with no heater at the moment due to not having one till I pick up tank I have just won tonight. Do you think no heater will be benifitial? as the heat when I am ill aggrivates me - does that make sense lol

Maybe the cooler it is, the less chance the bacteria would have to infect her wound... obviously as long as its not too cool she might be better unheated whilst she recovers
