Gimpy Platy Still Alive And Kickin!

Our little deformed platy is still alive! He hasnt grown at all still. He is about the size of a 3 week old platy fry and the rest are going on 2 and half months old and are at least 5 times his size. He might have to stay in the fry tank his whole life if he doesnt grow, cuz im worried the bigger fish will eat him, he is still at an edible size. I have officially named him Gimpy Gimpster. Hopefully he can still live out a somewhat long life, but im not too sure about it. Least he's safe now, my new 3 week old fry are just about the size of him now, its so weird LOL... anyways I will be keeping him of course to ensure he gets a good life. Just wanted to let ya know his update!

Oh, that kind of sounded wierd, but he is the same age as the 2 1/2 month old ones... sorry, kind of made it sound like he was only 3 wks.

I understand what you meant. I have a guppy fry that is still the size of about a 1 week old guppy. He is actually almost 4 weeks old! I wonder why this happens. He's eating and swimming around, but he's TINY!

Like you with your platy, I'm keeping my tiny guppy for as long as he is in this life. Even if he never graduates from the fry tank! I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue! I was wondering if it was cruel to keep him and was afraid to say anything. lol!

Hey its understandable! As long as my little one is still eating, pooing, and swimming around happily, than his life will be spared! He acts normal, cept for he cant swim around constantly like the bigger ones, and often needs to rest on the bottom, just hasnt grown at all. Good luck with yours!
